163.  Liquid Diet

January 7-17th 2014

The decision to start this cleanse occured shortly after my 5 month trip through Europe where I ate just short of an exorbiant amount of delicious European food and exercised little.  I needed something to kickstart a weight loss.  It worked for the most part too!  But this particular cleanse isn't meant to be a diet or fast (although those are some secondary purposes).   No I needed to get a lot of the bad out of my system before really going into a diet and exercise program (or that was the plan at least).  Here are the benefits of this cleanse:

1)  To dissolve and eliminate toxins that have built up in your body over years

2)  Cleanse your kidneys and digestive system

3)  Loosen joints by elimiating hardened build up in joint areas

4)  Build a healthy blood stream

5)  Relieve pressure and irritation in nerves, arteries, and blood vessles

6)  Maintain skin's elasticity

7)  Lose weight

I did it for a total of 10 days (minus a night I cheated and had soup).  It was seriously one of the hardest things I've done and definitely the hardest challenge I've ever completed when willpower is concerned.    Experts reccommend doing this cleanse between 10-14 days, but I think people can do it for generally any amount of time.   Naturally results will vary with different lengths of time.   I believe I lost about 7 pounds in those 10 days.  I didn't lose too much energy.   I think overall I did feel renewed.   Fresh.   And it's a great way to kickstart eating habits.  Make a change to become healthier.   If you would like to do this as well, here are the simple ingredients:

- 10 oz. water

-  2 Tbsp Lemon juice (half a lemon)

-  1/10 tsp cayenne pepper

-  2 Tbsp Organic Grade B Maple Syrup (that part is important, don't get the commercialized stuff you put on pancakes)
